Who Are We

Faith Worship Center (FWC), a Church of the Living God International, Inc. (CLGI) congregation, is in North Charleston, SC, within the Coastal District of the Southeast Jurisdiction. Our motto is, “Serving a Real God who meets the needs of real people”.

The Church of the Living God International, Incorporated (CLGI) is a Pentecostal/Holiness organization founded in 1994 by Presiding Bishop Joseph White, D. Min, headquartered in Columbus, OH and operating on 5 continents.

As a tender plant and a root out of a dry ground, The Church of the Living God International Incorporated (CLGI), sprang forth out of The House of God, which is the Church of the Living God, the Pillar and Ground of Truth Without Controversy, founded in 1903 by Mother Mary Magdalena Lewis Tate.

The ministry given Mother Tate was one of holiness with emphasis on repentance, sanctification, and baptism in the Holy Spirit; this would result in clean living with one working toward perfection. She was a bold preacher who took her message in and through the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Illinois which touch people of all races and ethnic backgrounds.

Having been called to preach, Reverend Joseph White was appointed as Pastor of what is now, the Pool of Bethesda CLGI in 1969. Under the direction of the Lord and with a strong desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he began an expansion program into other cities and neighboring states.

In 1980, Pastor White was appointed to State Bishop over what was eventually called the “Great Lakes Diocese.” Additional churches were fellowshipped into the organization.

About 1985, the Holy Spirit led Bishop Joseph White to travel abroad which led to fellowshipping churches into the fold in Germany; and then additional churches in Holland; United Kingdom; Japan; South Korea; South America; and Africa.

Through this ministry many souls have been saved, healed, and delivered by the power of God.

Vision Statement. The vision of The Church of the Living God International, Inc. is to establish churches in every city, state, and country; to build a community of churches in every city that is committed to dynamic true worship and that will cause the power of God to reach the unchurched.
